Mathspeak featured on Bulgarian TV

This week, the Bulgarian TV show “Knowledge.BG” (on BNT Channel 2) featured a piece on the Mathspeak project:

The piece on Mathspeak starts at 6’28”.

The Principal of the Vocational School of Clothes Design and Tailoring “Nedka Ivan Lazarova”, Ms Diana Ivanova discussed the project. The main topic was “How dual education prepares suitable staff for the labour market”.

The Bulgarian National Television Channel 2’s educational show “Knowledege.BG” presents topics on Bulgarian education at local level. It informs and introduces learners to the changes in the forms of education.

The broadcast is produced by the teams at the regional TV centres of the Bulgarian National Television in Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse and Blagoevgrad. It is broadcast from Monday to Thursday at 17:30.

On Wednesday 16th of January, the Principal Ms Diana Ivanova of the Vocational School of Clothes Design and Tailoring “Nedka Ivan Lazarova” will be on Channel 2 of the Bulgarian National Television, talking about the MathSpeak project.

An alternative Mathspeak logo

Here is an alternative Mathspeak logo, created by the PGO “Nedka Ivan Lazarova” school in Rousse, Bulgaria:

“The letter “M” contains the main parts of the MathSpeak acronym. For M it is obvious, and for S is obtained by turning the letter 90 degrees to the left. ∑ is a letter of the Greek alphabet and is pronounced much like Latin S.

In mathematics, the summation is the addition of a sequence of numbers; the result is their sum, reflecting the profound meaning of collecting ideas on the principle of the dialectic triad (thesis-antithesis-synthesis), and the desire of all participants in the project to create a useful and worthwhile intellectual product.

The whole vision of the logo is complemented by the male and female beginnings, visualized by a male and female figure, gently embedded in the M symbol and creating a sense of style and creativity.”

Proiect de parteneriat scolar Erasmus+ (Romanian)

Proiectul Mathspeak este un parteneriat între practicienii din domeniul educației și creatorii de materiale educaționale.

Proiectul va reprezenta un sprijin major pentru elevii care doresc să progreseze prin sistemul academic. Deasemeni, proiectul va oferi profesorilor de limbi străine și de matematică, mijloacele de a aborda o zonă neglijată dar vitală și de influență, prin atragerea atenției asupra problemelor educaționale legate de limbajul matematic.

Pentru a-și atinge scopurile, acest proiect necesită o soluție multilingvă, prin experiența partenerilor multinaționali care lucrează în învățământul secundar și care vorbesc mai multe limbi europene.

Rezultate
